Nepal is divided in three physiographic regions: the mountain region the hilly region and the terai region. This is a small sandwiched, landlocked country between two giant countries; china (Tibet) in north and India in east, west, and south. This tiny land is the kingdom of Himalaya, rich in natural beauty, and proud of its own unique cultural practices in different regions. About 76% of land is covered by mountain and hills. This unique land contains nine of the world’s fourteen highest mountains and more than 250 peaks above 6000m. Because of its different topography, climate of Nepal is also different in different elevation. Lifestyle of people is also different in different region. The total population of Nepal is about 27 million made up of 100 different ethnic groups, who speaks 93 different language/dialects. 

Nepal occupied a mere 0.01% of the world total landmass. This tiny land is the home for 2% of world flowering plant, about 8% of world’s bird species and over 4% of the world’s mammal species. More than 18 % of land was covered by protected area. There are 12 national parks, 3 wild life reserve and 6 conservation area. Among them Sagarmatha national park and Chit wan national park are listed in UNESCO world heritage sites. 

Sagarmatha National Park

Sagarmatha national park contain the gorge of mountain ranging
2,845 to the Everest (8,848m), top of the world. It is the home land of the Sherpa people. It is the place of renowned Tengboche and other (Thame, Khumjung and Pangboche) monasteries. Pine, hemlock, Juniper, birch, rhododendron etc. is the main flora find in this national park. Red panda, snow leopard, musk deer, Himalayan thar and Himalayan mouse hare are some of the fauna which were found in Sagarmatha national park. More than 118 species of bird including Impeyan Pheasant, snow cock, blood pheasant etc are found there. One of the famous trekking route Everest base camp treks run through this park.

Chitwan National Park

Chitwan national park is the first and famous national park of Nepal. 50 different types of grass including tall elephant grass, more than 50 mammals, about 55 species of amphibians and reptiles are found there.
It is the home of more than 10 endangered fauna: One- horned rhinoceros, Gaur, Royal Bengal Tiger, Wild elephant, four horned antelope, Golden moiter lizard, python, Gaint horn bill, Black stook, white Stook etc. It is also famous for jungle safari on elephant back, which is the great opportunity to see rare one Horned Rhino and Royal Bengal Tiger.
